Yesterday I was in the kitchen making dinner when I heard one of my kids playing the piano. I thought it was Liah trying to practice one of her songs. Finally, Emily comes into the kitchen, and says Mommy, I can't figure out what comes next. I said, was that you playing the piano? She said yes, I'm trying to play David Archuleta. She sang me the part she was trying to figure out, and I was amazed how much of it she got. My 4 year old is figuring out a melody on the piano, by ear. Pretty amazing?
Well today, we were driving to the store to get a birthday present for a friend when I decided to turn on the song she had been trying to play the day before. My jaw seriously dropped when it came on and I realized that it was in the exact same key!
Um, people, she's 4!!!

Your new blog look is so cute! And don't worry... I didn't delete you from my blogroll. :)
That is so great. I hope that she has the desire to keep on trying and getting those notes right. Good job and genius yes.
That is amazing! Have you been giving her piano lessons too, along with Liah? If not, I say its time she starts. You might have a music prodigy on your hands!
Can I say I'm JEALOUS!!! I'm plucking through and I'm 30!! I'm struggling with everything music related. LUCKY!! (As Napolean Dynamite would say it)
She's got skills.
WOW! That's amazing- I can hardly even picture her old enough to sit at a piano, let alone play an actual song! Hooray for Christmas break being just 2 weeks away- we'll get to see Addison [and bigger versions of Liah, Emily, and Sean]!!!
That really is amazing! Keep it up Emily!!! (maybe she can teach me ;)
Sure I can pick you just give me your email address and name your two favorite colors. My email is wendy.randolph@yahoo.com
Wow, that is amazing!
That is so cool. Natural talent, AWESOME!
I'm not suprised Amy, where do you think she got it???????
That's awesome, when my girls have a quesion on their piano practice I just stare at them blankly and tell them they'll have to wait until Brent gets home. DUH!!!
Why am I not surprised that YOUR daughter is musically inclined?
