Don't freak out Lorie! She begged me to do it! Lisa's post inspired me to let it happen. Back in August I cut my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. At the time, Liah begged me and begged me to cut her hair short too, so she could donate it, too. But I couldn't part with it! (no pun intended, although fitting...) On Saturday I decided she at least needed a trim because her hair was getting pretty scraggly (I don't know if that's a real word, but I use it a lot). So I got out the scissors, and she begged and begged for it to be short.
After!
Sunday:
"But mom, it will grow back!"
Okay!!! So I got out the ruler, measured exactly 10 inches (I measured this at least 10 times to convince myself I could live with it that short), put it into a ponytail, and cut! Oh I almost cried!!! But she is SO ridiculously excited about it, she floats and glides and bobs her head everywhere she goes, and she does look really cute with her short hair!
Before:
What little girl would not love this hair?? It's so pretty! Sleeping Beauty hair, as my sister calls it.
But like Liah told Jeremy the second he walked through the door, "It will grow back!"
Oh, I am counting on it.

WOW AMY!!! I'm so glad that she wanted to donate it. That is some gorgeous hair of hers. I feel really said because my second daughter used to have really LONG hair, but I ended up cutting it because she didn't like having it brushed and fought me all the time, and it was always tangly -- it's still short a few later, but someday when she's older it'll get long again.
I think I'd have bawled if I'd been the one to cut her gorgeous hair. Is that making you feel guilty that I keep saying the word GORGEOUS. Hope not, but it is GORGEOUS.
I meant to say that I feel really SAD not said. --- oops
I think it's so great that she wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love. Her hair is gorgeous. It looks cute short, and yes, it will grow back....
Way to go Liah!!
That is so very nice of her and you for letting it go for such a great cause. She looks darling Amy.
It's so cute, and it totally does look like Aurora's hair!
I too thought she looked cute yesterday! What a neat experience for her to donate her hair.
You did a great job cutting it, it looks really cute!
Wow, Liah, you're getting to be such a big girl now! And your hair will grow faster after a "trim". I think you look adorable both ways, but I personally just prefer the short. :)
Liah looks super cute but I think I'm going to cry. I guess I'll just have to brush her Sleeping Beauty hair when it grows back. The Locks of Love idea does make me feel a little better though (a little).
I loved how excited she was to show me her new hair cut on Sunday. She looks so cute! I love that she wanted to donate it.
That is crazy! she looks so cute with the short hair.
AHHHH! I thought you would never approve such a cut... I thought a trim would be a shock but all out cutting it is a shock. WOW!
That is fun though. Isn't it fun to have kids. I never got to cut my dolls hair so I love cutting my kids hair. I know that is terrible but they humor me.
Way to go it looks cute and change is an adventure.
Wow. I didn't know her hair was that long. I always wanted to donate my hair to locks of love, but people always told me it wasn't long enough. (And it was pretty long) Now I realize I so could have done it. Dangit.
Her short hair is adorable.
WOW! I didn't see her on Sunday so I had no idea. It looks so cute!! She definately did have Sleeping Beauty hair. Good for her! And YES it will grow back:)
She looks adorable!
