huh? How is that even possible?? Liah then ran across the house to the bathroom, bawling because her teeth were wiggling. Ah! Her first loose tooth! Liah is 6 1/2. All of her friends have been losing teeth for a while now, and she has been complaining all year "Why don't I get to lose any teeth? I'm the only one not losing teeth!" I've been telling her that she was the last to get teeth, so she would probably be the last to lose them (she was almost 1 before she got her first tooth). Well, now that the big day has arrived, she has mixed feelings.
"Now I will look funny!"
"I can't eat anymore!"
"Hey, I can tell Savannah that my tooth is loose!"
"I'm a little bit nervous about wearing a loose tooth to school."
"I just don't know why my adult teeth are pushing out my baby teeth."
"I sound weird when I say an 's' sound" (she has been looking in the mirror over-annunciating things to see which sounds sound different and which ones are still safe)
"My teeth weren't loose at school!"
Oh, the drama of it all!
p.s. On Tuesday, Liah got to read a book to her whole kindergarten class! I'm so proud!

Haha, Liah! Congrats on reading a book in class! And my first tooth story is one I remember well... it took me a while to get my teeth, and a while to lose them as well [I was almost 7 when my first tooth fell out]. We were eating and I thought my mom put something crunchy in the food [she would sometimes put medicine in our food b/c that was the only way she get us to eat it]. So I stopped eating and told her I refused to eat any more because it was crunchy. She searched through my food and found nothing- I told her that's cause it was in my mouth still. She made me spit it out and we were all surprised to see one of my canines! Funny stuff that happens when you start losing teeth! [I actually still have 3 of my baby teeth right now!] I just can't believe you're old enough to be losing teeth- you're such a big girl now!
That is so cute!! Is she excited for the Tooth Fairy? Oh, and I responded to your comment on my blog.
My favorites were the one about wearing the tooth to school and that it wasn't wiggly at school. We have a lot of drama at our house about loose teeth too.
Hannah hasn't lost any teeth either and she is also over 6. I can only imagine the drama that will bring to my house!
Amy, I love you enough to comment. I really truly do. This is why I am commenting. I am so excited for you buggaboo! I'm sending you a little tooth pouch this week. I am so proud of you for reading a book to your whole class!
