Happy Groundhog Day!

My girls both learned about Groundhog day today at school and came home with their own personal groundhog crafts. So very exciting. But not as exciting as what is coming up on Saturday. Liah has informed me that our family will be digging holes in the ground in our backyard this Saturday to look for groundhogs. Any takers??? Come on, you know you want to.

p.s. I hope you all know I'm totally kidding about actually doing this... I just think it is hilarious how serious she gets about things sometimes. But if you see Liah in our backyard digging holes, you'll know why.

Yeah, we probably won't be there.

Our hard-earned tax dollars at work. ;-) We had long discussions this evening about the difference between fact or fiction and whether or not a little animal really predicts the length of winter, etc. etc. After this talk (she was really concerned), she went and told her little sister that Groundhogs jump over the fence at night and eat little girls in the backyard. Guess she got the lesson, huh? :-)

That totally reminds me of myself in elementary school. Anytime someone would come in and do a special presentation then that's what I wanted to be or do... for a few days, then all the excitement would wear off. I love that she just "told" you that's what you were going to be doing on Saturday.

The dang little ground-hog in our back yard has made himself quite comfortable and managed to not become dinner for our other little neighbor....Mr. Fox!

We always seem to have six more weeks of winter regardless of shadows.
